Who we are

Deconstructing the Coliseum’s (DtC’s) website address is: https://deconstructingthecoliseum.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

If you submit information to us via the Contact page, that information is collected for the reason you submitted it to us.

As a donor: If you donate money to DtC then we have a legitimate interest in processing and retaining your information and in sending you marketing about our fundraising activities – either by post or electronic means. We justify this because our activities are funded by donations. For donations over certain thresholds we also have a legal obligation to report it to our humanistic masters (the civil government). Donations are processed via a third-party platform/website, which is Donorbox.

As a volunteer: If you volunteer for DtC or inquire about volunteering for DtC, we have a legitimate interest in processing and retaining your information and contacting you about volunteering opportunities. We justify this because of the vital function that volunteers perform in advancing Christianity.

As an attendee: If you attend a DtC event, we have a legitimate interest in retaining your information and in sending you marketing about future similar events which we think might be of interest to you – either by post or electronic means. We have a legitimate interest in inviting people to our events in order to raise funds and have determined that attendees would expect to receive such communications from us.

With whom we share your data

Except for that below, we do not share your data with anyone. Your personally identifiable information will not be sold to advertisers or spammers.

We share your personally identifiable information in three cases: (1) with your permission, (2) as required by law, and (3) change of ownership, each as more fully described in the paragraphs below.

We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. We do not reveal information until we have a good faith belief that an information request by law enforcement or private litigants meets applicable legal standards. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through DtC or using the DtC name, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents, or civil government agencies.

If the ownership of all or substantially all of DtC’s business, or substantial portions of the business owned by DtC, were to change, your information may be transferred to the new owner so the new owner can continue contacting you. In any such case, your information would remain subject to the protections provided in our Privacy Policy.

If you send us an email via the Contact page, that information is retained indefinitely.
